Steps to your DIY pergola

Step 1

Unwrap and lay out the Box 3-Way Brackets and 3m Box Beams for the top frame. Flatten the cardboard boxes to shield the brackets from the ground.

Step 2

Slip a Box 3-Way Bracket onto each end of 2 of the 3m beams. Do not tighten the screws yet.

Step 3

Connect the remaining 2 x 3m beams to form the square top frame. Hold off on tightening the screws.

Step 4

Secure 4 screws into each Box 3-Way bracket using the provided black stainless steel screws and Torx T20 Bit. For sunshade installation, attach the corner bracket supplied with the shade using the inner screws. Skip to Step 7 if not installing a sunshade.

Step 5

Thread the corner straps of the sunshade through the sunshade corner bracket and tension them securely.

Step 6

Mark the position of the side brackets on the sunshade using the side strap, and fix them in place with screws.

Step 7

Attach the 4 Base Plate Brackets to one end of each of the 4 x 2.4m Box Beams, securing them with the screws provided.

Step 8

With 2 adults, raise one side of the pergola roof frame while the third person inserts the legs into the Box 3-Way Brackets. Additionally, use two sets of 180cm step ladders to support the frame if needed.

Step 9

Lift the other side of the pergola roof frame with 2 adults while the third person inserts the remaining 2 legs. Step ladders or hop-ups may be necessary for support.

Step 10

Use a step ladder or Hop-up to fix all remaining screws underneath the Box 3-Way Bracket.

For side sunshade installation, fix the corner bracket supplied with the shade.

Step 11

Measure and align all posts, ensuring they are plumb and level.

Step 12

Secure the Base Plate brackets to the ground using appropriate fixings (not included).

Step 13

Relax and enjoy the shade from your newly installed Boxgola Pergola!
